If you are over the age of 60 there is a new and exciting group enrolling now! For safety’s sake, you and your friends may have been “cut off” from the rest of the world…and each other. Isolation is a terrible stress, and many people are struggling with this and depression during COVID. First of all, I just want to say that you are not alone.
Second, there is a group that I’m starting called “The Good Ol’ Days”, which is a reminiscence group for older adults. You may be asking, “What is a reminiscence group?” It is a space where those with stories to tell can share and receive from each other. Not only is this a great way to connect with others through shared and personal experiences, but it has been shown through research to be a helpful treatment for depression in older adults. So, whether you are battling with isolation and are looking for some reprieve or if you are just looking to connect during COVID, this group is a great place and all are welcome.
This group will be held virtually and is open to those over the age of 60. Give us a call at (434) 202-4080 to set up a quick screening interview and to answer any questions you may have.
