Hi! I am a Resident in Social Work and specialize in working with children and teenagers struggling with anxiety, depression, Autism spectrum disorders, trauma, ADHD, and behavioral concerns. If your child is struggling with melt-downs, hard transitions, or difficulty following directions, I help through both behavioral and emotional support to you as parents as well as your child. I also have a specific interest in working with individuals struggling with disordered eating, as the pandemic has highlighted an intense need for this work across the Charlottesville/UVA community. For all individuals with whom I work, I utilize a warm, empathic, and strengths-based approach with concrete steps towards helping people meet their goals. I utilize a blend of cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal therapy to promote change and get outdoors with my clients as much as possible.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from James Madison University and my Master’s in Social Work from Louisiana State University. My experience includes working in the Phillipines with girls victimized by modern slavery as well in Charlottesville providing in-home therapeutic services for children struggling with intense behavioral difficulties. Throughout my life, I have been committed to working with children of all ages and their families.
I grew up in Charlottesville and attended Western Albemarle High School. Although I was raised here, I am still discovering new hiles and running trails and loving all that this city has to offer! I work out of the Charlottesville-West office at the Boar’s Head and utilize the space to walk-and-talk with my clients and explore the beautiful setting. I also offer teletherapy when appropriate. You can reach me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
