Hello. I specialize in helping teens, men, and their families lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. If you, your son, or another male in your life struggles with social skills, anger, anxiety, school or work stress, and/or depression, I can help. I also specialize in families including those living the expatriate lifestyle raising third culture children. I work to help families develop the necessary resilience and support to manage transitions and challenges. With all clients, I believe in the importance of relationships, community, working hard, and being active.
I also use my experience as a father of young girls to help families navigate more typical developmental tasks, such as following directions, bedtime routines, and managing meltdowns. Throughout, I work towards helping families and children find their strengths. In line with Virginia Family Therapy, I believe in the importance of relationships, community, working hard, and being active.
I am a father and husband, an avid cyclist and retired rugby player, and a licensed (VA, DC, MA) clinical social worker with 15+ years of experience working with children and families. I went to Boston College for undergrad and graduate school. I provide teletherapy to families across Virginia, provide walk-and-talks to those in Arlington and Falls Church, and am on the leadership team of VFT. You can reach me directly at pryan@virginiafamilytherapy.com.
