Hello! I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, couples, families, and multicultural clients. I truly believe that everyone has the power to make the changes necessary to overcome obstacles, find clarity, and improve their quality of life. I utilize a strengths-based approach to help guide you through the process of reshaping current patterns and negative thoughts relating to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity development, perfectionism, life transitions, social skills, and more. I also have experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder/Twice-Exceptional, ADHD, and eating disorders.
I prioritize multicultural competence and I strive to help individuals of all cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds, gender identities, and sexual orientations feel comfortable to express themselves freely. I want to learn from your personal experiences, and help find solutions that work for you. I utilize Solution-Focused, Adlerian, Emotion-Focused, and Attachment Theory modalities in my practice.
Having grown up in New York City and after completing my bachelor’s degree in anthropology at Adelphi University, I spent half a year traveling in Europe, then did an environmental AmeriCorps term based in Montana working on public lands in the Northern Rockies. I then moved to Seattle for a year where I gained experience working with individuals in community settings, and then moved to Virginia in 2019, where I earned my MEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Couples, Marriage, and Family Counseling from the College of William & Mary.
I currently work out of the Charlottesville-East office as a resident in counseling and am supervised by Matt Browning, LPC. I love to be outdoors, so I am thrilled to be able to offer walk-and-talk sessions in addition to face-to-face and teletherapy. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new bike trails, adventuring in the mountains, traveling to new cities, trying new foods, and spending time with family and friends.
