Hi! I’m Liz and I specialize in working with families with young children. I work with children with ADHD, anxiety, and children on the autism spectrum. I also help support parents as they work through challenging stages in their child’s development because raising young children is nothing if not a constant source of both joy and challenge.
I believe that as parents, your relationship with your child is your superpower. Together, we’ll find the strategies and supports you need to strengthen that connection and make your family life work for you. I enjoy incorporating creative, playful activities and using the power of the outdoors to help children and families get regulated and connected.
I came to counseling after over a decade of teaching experience, and I have my primary classroom training from the American Montessori Society. I live with my husband and four young children in Charlottesville, and you can often find us outside exploring playgrounds, hiking trails, and swimming holes. In my free time, I enjoy reading mysteries, listening to podcasts, training for my next half marathon, and the elusive and magical weekend nap.
My motto for working with clients is:
- We can do hard things
- When we struggle, we grow
- We get stronger every day
I look forward to meeting you to work through the hard stuff and get stronger together!
