Sarah Lotchin, LCSW
Hi! I specialize in working with teenage and young adults struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, disordered eating and body image issues, and adoption. If you or your child is having a hard time managing academic or social pressure, perfectionism, over-exercising, feelings of low self-worth, or self-harm, I can help. As a clinician, I strive to meet my clients and their families where they are in their journey, whether it is their first time in therapy or if they have been feeling stuck in their lives for a long time. I support and encourage change through empathetic listening and strengths-based interventions. I utilize solution-focused therapy, family-based treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy to meet the comprehensive needs of my clients. Throughout, I am relationship-based as we work together towards achieving realistic and meaningful goals.
I earned my undergraduate degree in 1996 from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my Masters in Social Work in 1998 at Syracuse University. I have been working as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for over 20 years in a variety of settings across the east coast, including in milieu and residential treatment settings, schools, hospitals, and military establishments. I have experience working with a diverse set of clients but have always been interested in helping the whole family.
I live in Raleigh, NC with my husband, three children and Newfie pup Sadie. I am a sports enthusiast in general but always cheering on my TarHeels! I love to travel and spend time with friends and family biking, hiking, playing tennis and listening to live music. I provide teletherapy for individuals living in North Carolina.
