Post-Doctoral and License Eligible Training Program

Virginia Family Therapy offers the foremost training program for license eligible clinicians in Clinical Psychology, Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Clinical Social Work. Our program offers specialized training in the areas of:

Successful applicants to our program value relationships with clients and co-workers, are actively engaged in learning, are open to new ideas/ways of thinking, and can laugh at themselves!  We take mentorship seriously and encourage applicants who hope to grow with A&C as a licensed clinician, supervisor, and/or Community Director in the future.

Scope of Program

 Our mission is to provide quality experience and clinical education in order to support the leap from graduate school to residency and the development of exceptional clinicians.  

Year 1: Weekly individual supervision focused on clinical skills

Weekly group supervision with pre-licensed clinicians focused on cases 

and developing understanding of family interventions

Bi-weekly group supervision company (licensed and pre-licensed)

Weekly staff meeting for didactic instruction

 

Year 2: Weekly individual supervision focused on specific interests/expertise

Weekly group supervision with pre-licensed clinicians focused on specific 

cases

Bi-weekly group supervision company (licensed and pre-licensed)

Our supervisors offer a wide range of specialties, professional experiences, and training styles.  We will work together to build a program of supervision that will allow you to learn more about evidence based practices, further develop a specialty niche, or seek growth by working with new populations.
