Hi! I am a Resident in Counseling under supervision with Dayna Kumar, LPC. I work with clients where they are, and use a variety of approaches to support increased resilience and mastery of self and life situations. I love to support individuals and families in connecting to their full potential and living their happiest lives. I bring a gentle and engaging presence, and offer opportunities for shifts in perspective and behaviors during sessions.
I specialize in working with trauma, stress, anxiety and overwhelm in children and adults, and love to use Expressive Arts and a body-centered approach. I deeply enjoy working with couples.
I have a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling, with a focus in Marriage and Family Therapy, from University of Massachusetts, Boston, and a Masters in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School. I am also trained as an Ecotherapist through the EarthBody Institute in California, which means I integrate nature connection practices in my therapy, including sessions outdoors when appropriate, and in Holistic Pelvic Care for Women ™ by Tami Kent.
In the past, I have worked as a therapist at a resource center for sexual violence, and as a trainee counselor at a trauma-informed community mental health agency in Florida, and a college mental health center in Vermont. I have also served as a chaplain in higher education settings for nine years, supporting students, staff and community members from diverse backgrounds, and have run counseling and personal growth groups for young women for over a decade.
I live in the Charlottesville area with my family, which includes three chickens.
