I am a clinical social worker licensed in the state of Mississippi and in Virginia. I work with individuals who experience chronic health conditions, life limiting illness, and grief. I also have experience working with individuals who experience anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss. Some of the populations I have worked with include children and families involved in the court system, and veterans.
I meet every person with compassion, an open mind, and support without judgement. I have a deep appreciation for the strengths and attributes that are unique to all of us. I seek to create a therapeutic environment that feels safe and encouraging. I combine a variety of approaches to best suit your individual needs. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, and Interpersonal Therapy. As a social worker, my perspective includes viewing each client as a whole person and looking at multiple aspects of your life which may be contributing to your current emotional experience.
I earned my Bachelor of Social Work, and Master of Social Work degrees from The University of Southern Mississippi. I am currently working towards a post-master’s certification in Veterinary Social Work from the University of Tennessee. In my certificate program I am gaining specialized knowledge and techniques to address animal related grief bereavement, Animal Assisted Interventions, and compassion fatigue in the animal related professions. I have worked in medical and mental health settings including The University of Southern Mississippi, UVA Cancer Center, and the Veteran’s Administration.
I currently live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and when I am not working I am likely outdoors paddling one of the area’s many waterways or enjoying the local culture and entertainment. I work over Teletherapy only and can be reached directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
